Arsenic Toxicity: What Are the Standards and Regulation for Arsenic Exposure?

Fact: Fish have to be kept cool until they are served, otherwise they run the risk of scombroid poisoning
ReplyDeleteQuestion: Is arsenic the main pollutant that effects fish?
DNA repair systems, which repair damaged segments of DNA, are negatively impacted by arsenic due to its displacement ability.
ReplyDeleteIs there any research that has been done into the exact mechanism of this?
scombrotoxin is a toxin created in fish that has nothing to do with what it ate and is caused by being exposed to too warm of temperatures.
ReplyDeleteAll of these fish have these different toxins, but what is the effect of these different toxins on the human body? More specifically scombrotoxin.
DNA repair system repairs the damage of the DNA of the body and the things from outside.
ReplyDeleteQuestion: Are there any way that we can remove these from the fish?
What I learned: One of the main damaging affects the pollutants in the fish can have is damaging DNA repair systems.
ReplyDeleteQuestions: Do Omega-3's have any effect on these issues, or is this solely a disadvantage of taking Omega-3's through fish.
Scrombrotoxin accumulates in fish when they are heated prior to cooking, and cooking the fish does not get rid of these toxins.
ReplyDeleteCan we look at a table that compares the average bioaccumulation in certain fish?
Statement: It is important to keep fish at a cool temperature until they are ready to be used, as this will lead to the proliferation of scombrotoxins.
ReplyDeleteQuestion: What are the effects of histamine poisoning on humans?
