  1. Both early on set and late on set Alzheimers have the same effects.

What are the environmental conditions that affect Alzheimers?

  2. What I learned: Although late onset and early onset Alzheimer's are caused by different factors (at least to a degree), they have almost identical effects.

Question: What kind of environmental factors may be linked to late onset Alzheimers?

  3. Fact: Possessing the APOE4 gene puts an individual at a higher risk for developing Alzheimer's

Question: If your parents have the APOE4 gene, are you more likely to get it, or is it not affected genetically in that way?

  4. I learned that 95% of Alzheimers is Late-Onset which is not necessarily genetic but only 5% have Early Onset Alzheimers which directly correlates with your type of genes (most ideal: APOE2 not 4). I also learned that DHA makes oxidation occur more rapidly so antioxidants must be taken as well as DHA supplements.
Q: What is the difference between Early Onset Alzheimers and the general brain decline of adults around the same ages?

  5. DHA oxidize quickly which does not help decreasing cognitive decline.

Question: what is the mechanism of DHA oxidation? Is it just creb cycle?

  6. DHA oxidizes quickly, which has a negative impact on brain health.

If beta amyloid is toxic, is the function of ApoE to produce proteins that will remove it from cells? what is its function if it causes Alzheimers?

  7. Statement: People with the ApoE4 gene have the worst antioxidant defense. Because of this, DHA and EPA oxidize quickly, which have harmful affects on the brain.

Question: How does excess beta-amyloid damage the brain?
