  1. What I learned: Dosages of Omega-3 and Vitamin D can cause a lower chance of Type I diabetes.

    Question: If the condition of IA is largely genetic, how do Omega-3's affect it?

  5. A higher amount of Vitamin D or PUFAs will reduce your chance of contracting Islet Autoimmunity at birth. IA functions in the pancreas and stops your body from producing insulin, which raises your blood sugar without stopping (Type 1 Diabetes).
    Q: How specifically is Type 2 Diabetes caused?

  6. Islet Autoimmunity is a precursor for type 1 diabetes. Your body stops producing insulin from the pancreas, which means you cannot moderate blood sugar.

    If Type 1 diabetes is genetic, how can it be prevented by omega 3s/vitamin d?
